College Counseling Events/Information:

  • Are you interested in possibly attending the US Naval Academy or US Military Academy at West Point? The 17th Annual US Service Academy Day, Charlotte Catholic High School on Saturday April 6, 2019, beginning in the Chapel at 10:00 a.m.  There will be presentations from the Service Academy Admissions representatives. There will also be district congressional staff available to explain the nomination processes.  

  • The ACLU Summer Advocacy Program brings together high school students from across the United States to participate in a firsthand learning experience for the next generation of social justice advocates. During this week-long program in Washington, DC, students participate in electives and seminars led by lobbyists, community activists, lawyers, and ACLU experts to enhance their knowledge of civil liberties, social justice issues, and advocacy campaigns. The Close Up Foundation – a DC based civic education non-profit – partners with the ACLU to provide substantive experiential learning and small group discussion opportunities throughout the program. Applications are due by April 7, 2019.
